h*OM*e for the Holidays by Denise Andrade-Kroon

Creating a cozy hOMe for the holidays (and my boys!) makes my heart swell with love. I am often amazed at how a few simple and inexpensive details not only prepare my hOMe for the season but also helps to instill warmth and togetherness through this busy time of year.
A Gratitude Garland
Inspired by the beautiful Amanda, a few years ago the five of us sat around the table on Christmas Eve and created our own Gratitude Garland. Each of us had gathered beauty from the earth to paint, draw and write on. We wrote what we felt grateful for. Boho Brother stayed up the latest layering found objects with his unique arty style. The next morning I woke up to Boho Brother and Omi hanging it on the porch of the beach house.
Our time around the table that evening will always remain a cherished memory. Now that my son Cedar is a bit older, I am looking forward to letting him be involved with this tradition with us. It's also a good way to display the sweet art and gifts he brings me throughout the year.
Wrapped with love
In a home full of deeply sensitive folk, less stimulation, even in design, feels soothing to our souls. To keep with my longing for simple, last year I had so much fun wrapping with a natural theme. I still had some brown paper and ribbon that I purchased from Dreamy Whites and I added jute ribbon, stamps & tags (from our local craft store).
I also got a little crafty for the ladies of our sweet village. I gathered feathers from around our neighborhood and placed each one inside a transparent globe ornament. Galvanized tins filled with moss became a cozy little nest for them. To see the smiles of joy at being remembered during a time that can be so hectic always touches my heart so and I feel like I'm the one who received a treasure.
